Canola oil or olive oil here too!  :)

If you want to deep fry something, I find canola oil will not scorch as olive sometimes can.
What you do today is what matters!

Umpa, what can I use instead off soy based oils for deep frying? The olive oil is really expensive where we live.

The problem nitason1 is that I am allergic to peanuts. That hole family of soy and peanuts is out of the question.

If you can't use peanut oil try olive oil, the more virgin the better.
