FEB 18th
« on: March 02, 2011, 07:38:33 AM »
I can't find my original post anymore for my weight loss journey.

Well I'm on the second week and not as gazelle as in the first week that's for sure.

I went to a buffet with my family on Sunday and although I ate the right things.  I have been eating too many carbs. Sunday I had 30.5, Monday I had 29.6, Tuesday I had 13.7.

I guess it's not so much how many carbs as what carbs right now.  I have been eating more sugar alcohols than I would like.  I think I read somewhere on here that you should probably have no more than one  day of SF candy, pop, and desserts.

I know some people eat the SF Jello everynight, but when I make it I make it with 1 cup of heavy cream (unfortunately I bought the 1 carb per TBS) See my dilemma.  After eating one on Sunday and one on Monday I poured out the rest of the cream and will wait until I get the zero carb cream to make the cherry and lime mousse again.

I need to reread some posts again.

It's trial and error and a learning curve to know what and what not to eat so keep at it and you will be great.  I stayed away from the buffets for the first six months to the unhappiness of my hubby. lol  Too many tempting items and you really don't know what they are putting in it unless you are just eating the proteins with no sauces and veggies/salad. I brought my own dressing!  I buy my SF jello prepared unless I make a pie with SF jello and sugar free whipped cream or heavy whipping cream and make my own.  You are doing great keeping track of it.  If you over eat your carbs for the day take a walk. ;) The point is not to give in....each day you start over and try to do better.

When I first started I went wild over the SF candy because that is one of my triggers....sweets and especially chocolate.  After I had been on the program a while I didn't crave the sweets so much.  My other trigger was bread and so I found a recipe to make my own at home so I could enjoy sandwiches and it was healthy made from flax seed.

I know you can do it...drink lots of water, eat fiber, think positive thoughts! :)
Peace and blessings,

IzzeT

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I did make the 'One Minute Muffin' last night.  I made a grilled cheese sandwich with mine.  It reminded me of a pancake mixed with cornbread.  Pretty tasty actually.

I will buy some packed sugar free jello and use the spray whipped cream.  That mousse recipe is addictive and oh so yummy.  I will allow my desserts to be treats.   ::) When I was a kid we got a treat maybe once a week.

I weighed in today.  I'm down 0.4.  A total loss of 11.5 now for 2 weigh-ins.

I realized this week that if I eat between ...

20 - 30+ carbs I gain

20 - 24   carbs I maintain

10 - 20   carbs I lose

< 10       carbs I get crazy irritable

I will use these observations to plan accordingly.

This is a VERY powerful post. For MM it shows how personal carbs can be to each of us individually. Some of us MUST stay below 20, even 15 net carbs to keep the weight dropping. Others can eat more than 20 and still lose. Metabolism, age, gender, activity level all effect our numbers.

I decided not to weigh in for awhile like SherriPie said she did. I seem to be having a problem with craving SF candy.  How did you all stop eating it?
