Returned from Vacation
« on: March 29, 2011, 03:33:19 PM »
I am back home after being away for a week.  I am pleased to say I stayed on the FTS lifestyle the entire time.

One day when it was pretty warm everyone got a waffle cone with rocky road ice cream, (which happens to be one of my favorite kinds)
but I got a diet Dr Pepper.  ;D

My weight stayed the same but I lost inches.  So to me that is a good thing.  Now that I am home I can eat when I am hungry and drink more water.

I also found out that Carl's Junior has a low carb hamburger on the menu! Woo Hoo :D

Welcome back, Mimzy! :)

Congrats for staying on course despite the temptation with an old favorite.

I've found that the longer I'm true to the FTS lifestyle, the easier it is to turn away from my old favorite (but sugary) foods.
I've replaced most all of them with low carb replacements.
The ones that I haven't, will just have to wait until I do.

Hi Umpa! :)

I had to think about this a while.
I have relegated any food that is "poison" (i.e. high in sugar) as off limits and I forget about it if there's no healthy equivalent replacement.

But after some brain strain, one came to mind... Corn on the cob.
In summers past, I could not have a BBQ if it wasn't also on the grill... I really LOVED that poison!!!

Since there is nothing "on the cob" that will replace it, this summer, I will BBQ sliced seasoned turnips on the barby as jicama is not available around here.
Maybe if I add some wood chips to the fire, it would impart a nice smoky flavor to them. ;)
