Question re Eggs-Egg Beaters

I noticed in the cookbook that Egg Beaters are primarily used.  Is there any reason, if there are no cholesterol issues, that full-fledged eggs can't be used?

Thanks.  I'm finding LOTS of good recipes - it will be hard trying to decide which ones I will go with next week, but at least I have many choices.

When doug and I cook,its usually what we have in the house.We live in remote areas so you cant always get the products you want.You can use whatever kind of eggs you like. ;)

Thanks Umpa ... just wanted to make sure I would still be on the right track using regular eggs as well, as that is typically one of my staples.

Gail remember that eggs usually count for at least 1 carb depending on your eggs.  But if you eliminate the yolk it is 0 carbs ;D

We use both to help cut down on cholesterol when we can. Egg Beaters generally have less calories, too, but I know most people here don't worry about that. I keep both on hand because I like eliminating the yolk to cut carbs. I'll have to check into the liquid egg whites and see if that's more economical.

Really? I'll keep that in mind. I know it varies from what size egg you buy. I've been reading that mediums are 0.3 carbs for just the white. I don't bother counting those. I know they add up eventually, but I'm not going to get that meticulous. I'm too busy with everything else.

Hi Gail,

I switched to Publix's egg stirs (same nutrional info as egg beaters).. What I found is that the egg stirs have less calories and no fat.. At first I was having a hard time losing and by cutting not only the sugar but reducing the fat intake, I was losing faster and more. You have to read the labels at all times. It has become second nature for me.. Now fat intake doesnt affect some, but it did me.. we are all different.. I switched from regular bacon to Jennie O's turkey bacon that has  zero fat and no carbs and low calories.. I am able to eat without any guilt and feel satisfied..
