Anxiety ?
« on: April 11, 2011, 02:04:16 PM »
Lately I've developed some anxiety, feeling it more so as soon as I wake up...I was wondering if this might be associated with my low carb diet ?  I'm not one for taking suppliments or medications....I would appreciate all of your knowledge and advice on this please

What else is going on in your life Bella? I find I can get a bit anxious occasionally if I have too much of a work load on my plate. Do you? I resolve this by writing everything I need to get accomplished down on a yellow pad and I prioritize it. Once I feel in control of my list the anxious feeling goes away.

I don't believe your eating plan has any effect.

I agree with Doug on this one! I'm kinda prone to anxiety as well, but haven't noticed it getting any worse since I started FTS!!! I just try to go to "my happy place" (for me, I close my eyes and picture myself at the beach...hearing the waves roll in, etc.) and then try to figure out what's causing it!! It's usually associated with some task that I'm concerned about and once I'm able to identify it...get things on paper, like Doug said, I feel much better!!

Praying for you to figure out what the source is!!!   :)

I second Doug.. I lead a very busy and hectic life and omg, always feeling anxious.. I have also found that writing what I need to get down in order of importance helps me bring down the anxiety..

I was talking to Umpa about your post Bella and she told me that occasionally she'll have a sugar low (she forgets to eat sometimes) and when that happens she experiences a feeling which could be associated with anxiety. Hope this helps :)

Hey Bella

I agree ... when I try to do a "no carb day" my blood sugar is too low.  The physical symptoms of low blood sugar may mimic feelings of anxiety. For me, it feels like an anxiety attack.

dizziness, shaking, etc.

Try to stay within 20 gm carbs until you know what your carb tolerance is...

Good luck.. and keep posted...

You can do this...  ;D

Actually its not  Bella. If  the culprit is blood sugar, then eat peanut butter and if it takes the edge off its low blood sugar.Alot of people use carbs like juice or gluclose, but carbs burn too fast the anxiety will come back.Protein will keep you leveled out longer. Please keep me informed,I would like to help get you through this. ;)
