I've been in a real
mood lately because of clothes. The
part is that I've lost 5 more pounds since I started keeping track of my food intake. My 'goal' has been to fit into some of my old clothes that I've been saving since the mid-90s. But as we're talking about in some other threads, some of those old clothes are just way too high waisted. By the time the waist fits me, the rear and front is really baggy.
We're going to Disney World next month and I've been putting off buying any new clothes because I wanted to fit into my old ones. That wasn't happening -- at least not in the right bodily places. Since I'm such a tightwad, I went to the Salvation Army and tried on a bunch of shorts today. I'm happy to say I bought 6 pairs of really cute shorts ... that are in style even!
I also got 8 tank tops to mix & match with them. For everything, I spent about $38. Had I gone to a regular store, I might have been able to get 1 or 2 pairs at the most. And, if I lose more weight and these become too big on me, I'm not out as much. I still have to splurge on a new swimsuit. Mine looks idiotic because it's so baggy.
However, the best part of this long, boring story is that I was finally able to shop in the misses section and not the women's. I haven't done that in years! And to top it off, everything I tried on FIT or was too big! I was wearing a size 14 jeans today and all the shorts I bought are 12s, some closer to 11. If I lose more weight before my trip, I could get into an 11 or maybe even 10, but I didn't want to take any chances of not having anything to wear as the trip gets closer. It was just a really good feeling to be able to try something on and have it fit well.
