brownies?
« on: May 04, 2010, 10:01:13 AM »
Can we somehow combine the recipe for the homemade chocolates and the recipe for the cupcakes to make brownies? Or, is there already one available on here that I have overlooked? I will check Doug's cookbook, too, but I don't recall seeing it in there.

Here is a link to a recipe I found by searching for low carb brownies. Doug or Umpa, what do you think about it?

i think its very similar to my brownie recipe!!Except for the erythritol. Its not as sweet so you have to use alot more.i would use xylitol.

I made the brownies tonight! I snitched a bite when they came out of the oven. I can't wait to try them tomorrow, as the recipe says they are better the second day after they become more like a brownie texture!

Here is the link again if anyone wants it. I used xylitol instead of the sweetener given in the recipe.

Oh, and by the way, they are out of this world when they are just a little warm and topped with a small spoonful of Breyer's Carb Smart vanilla ice cream.

WOW....the brownie recipe calls for a lot of xylitol if you substitute it for the erithrytol (however you spell that stuff!!!). I am paying for it this morning....if you know what I mean......it happens suddenly and it happens strongly and it happens frequently and THANK GOD I was already not feeling well and took the day off from teaching.....

I am wondering if we could cut back or mix it up with another sweetener that wouldn't be quite so...ummm...powerful.....

I don't want to get too graphic.
