Having a rough day!!!
« on: June 19, 2011, 03:11:50 PM »
:-X  BLAH.  Yesterday was NOT a good day for me.  I went too long without eating b/c I was out with my mom and I got low blood sugar really bad in a store (not diabetic) and had to eat a rotisserie chicken leg when I got in the car LOL...i STILL felt bad and had a 30 minute drive ahead of me.  I was exhausted!  So, when I got home, I ate a chicken wrap for dinner and had some strawberries and reddi whip---which i THINK put my over by a few carbs, not many.  Wake up and weigh myself today and I've lost only .2 pounds, all the other days I've went down a digit.  SO, feeling discouraged.  Feeling hungry for waffles and donuts ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!  I have to be in a wedding in September----I just need the WILLPOWER to carry on!!!!!!!!!  I just wish weight loss could be INSTANT...doesn't everyone....

Your weight went DOWN .... be thankful! No matter how little, it's the right direction. Also, there will be a time when you hit a plateau, so be aware of this and don't let it get you down. As long as you stay faithful to FTS, it will eventually work its way back to the downward direction on the scale.

Hi eliruthy! :)

Like owensmath said, be thankful you did not gain.
And think of it this experience as lesson about not allowing yourself to get too hungry.

When I know I might be out for a long time, I always take some beef jerky, a couple of pepperoni sticks, and/or a couple of protein bars with me.

Here's where I get my protein bars.
They are only 1 net carb each. And will hold you for a couple of hours.

And here's Doug's recipe for home made low carb beef jerky:

Thanks!  I will take advantage of those protein bars for sure!  Jerky recipe looks pretty easy too!  I know, I did LOSE.  I guess I'm an immediate gratification kinda person....it's hard to watch the scale move slowly especially when I'm in a wedding soon and I wanna look the best! LOL...  But, at least it's going down.  My mom just came up and weighed herself.  Granted it's not morning, but she weighed 161.  She' 5'6.  When she came here a year ago, she weighed about the same exactly.  Then we went on another diet, and she got done to 148 but has gained it ALL back.  I went on the same diet and lost about 14 pounds but gained about 5 back.  RIGHT NOW, we are 10 pounds apart, when she got here, we were 20!  Now, THAT'S motivation! LOL.  She's almost done reading the book.  Can't wait till she's all in like my husband and I are ;)

Hi Eliruthy....sorry you had a rough day, but you'll get past those!  Hey, be sure to check out the recipes for pancakes in breakfast section of the recipe exchange.  You can change them around from cinnamon, to strawberry, or even chocolate pancakes!  I enjoy the sugar free pancake syrup too!  When I eat the FTS pancakes, I can make it til dinner without getting hungry!  ;D

I saw some of those actually!!! I was wondering if you can use ground flax seeds in place of flax meal...if not, no biggie, but I already have flax seeds!  They sound yummy!

Hi eliruthy

Sorry you have had a bad day.  I had a few of those when I first started to.  Just stick with it you will do fine.  Along with the protein bars I like to carry packs of almonds or other nuts with me.  They make a great snack when I am out and will hold off the hunger for a while.  And yes you can grind your own flax seeds to make your meal.  I just use a coffee grinder that I bought just for my flax and almonds.  I think I payed $10 for it at Walmart...LOL  it works great  ;D  Or if you have a fancy food processor you can use that  ;)

I have found that the best trick is to always be prepaired.  That way you aren't caught starving and willing to eat anything  :o :o

Bad days happen to all of us. I have them a lot. My biggest craving is peanut butter. Even though I try to keep Beanit Butter on hand because it's 0 carbs, it's one thing I totally crave. A spoonful here and a spoonful there and before I know it -- I can totally blow it and not lose.

Your weight still went down, which is good. :) :) :)

Yes hang in there. Once you get through detox all those craving for sugar will stop. You know if you want jerky, the big nacho slim jims only have two carbs. If you have an AM/PM they sell a Wisconsin jerky that is HUGE that only has one carb. You can do this...we've all been right where you are and know how you feel!! :)

Thank you!!!!!  I'm still in stall mode.  I've been just about the same weight for 3 days now.  BUT, i haven't gained so I hope I'm losing inches or something!!!  I'm going to cut out the any more artificial sweetener besides the one yogurt I had and see if it makes a difference tomorrow!!!
