Doug and Umpa off the grid till next week
« on: June 29, 2011, 11:19:39 AM »
Hi all, I`m posting this from my little phone. Our phones and Internet are down. AT&T tells me the expected repairs will be done Monday! They tell me 7 states are involved in this massive crash.     Forum moderators please keep things in order.   Thanks!   Talk to you next week :)

Yeah, no kidding -- me too! I'm trying to write a middle grade story, but keep getting distracted by my usual online chit chat.

Good luck, Doug & Umpa!

This going to sound weird but I'm having some maintaining problems. I am really good at losing but adding carbs is a problem, it's like I am so used to losing that I don't want to level out. So now I have five extra lost pounds to play with. So if I gain one here or there while trying to get this maintaining down I am telling myself it's okay. So bare with me, you'll probably see it go back up a bit before I get the carbs just right. :)

H Sherri! :)

There's nothing at all weird about it.
One of the primary purposes of the FTS journey is to learn how our body responds to changes in what we eat.
We are all doing that with you.

You are changing your eating habits after being in "weight loss mode" for quite some time.
Be patient with yourself... You'll get used to it. ;)

It can be fun trying to figure out "What can I get away with and not gain weight?".
But once you know, and after some time, you'll seldom need to step on a scale.
You will be living the life God intended for you... The life of a thin person!!! :) :) :)
What you do today is what matters!

Sherri, I wish I could trade with you. I've been maintaining for too long when I need to lose!

Hi Donna! :)

I'm sure you've read the posts... Trying making adjustments here and there to see what happens.

Start with checking your portion sizes. As you lose weight, your body shrinks so you should need less food.

Then try removing ALL sugar alcohols along with reduced portions. This is usually enough to get the ball moving again.

And if all else fails, do the first two and also reduce your daily carb intake below 20.
If you cut too many carbs, your body will tell you (i.e. dizziness, weakness, fatigue, etc.).
My lower carb limit is about 10 net carbs per day.... Any more, and I suffer!

And of course, be sure your drinking LOTS of plain water.
During the Summer months heat, your water intake should go up.
What you do today is what matters!
