Put on a few pounds
« on: July 08, 2011, 01:03:58 PM »
Yikes I've put on a few more pounds than I thought ...those darn festivals.lol j/k But I'm still in my 8s thank goodness.  I love cereal and thought this Kashi cereal was ok...I thought wrong. The box is empty now...who would have thought a "healthy" cereal could do so much damage. Refocusing on the basic principles again.  Hope everyone is well.  I have a little reprieve this summer from the frenzied holidays of Hallmark so I hope I can get on the forum more.
Peace and blessings,

Hi izzet! :)

This just goes to show how carb-centered the so-called "healthy" American diet is.

For folks that have metabolisms that are resistant to carbs, great!
But for most folks, like us, they will cause weight gain.

It's no wonder so many people become so frustrated trying to lose their excess weight.
They are unknowingly sabotaging themselves with carbs!
What you do today is what matters!

You can get back on track, Izzet!

I too, love cereal. I really missed it when I started FTS. Then I found Dixie Diner's Smaps and that's been a lifesaver. I just got some Sensato's Cinnamon Granola, which is good and only 2 carbs per 1/2 cup serving. Although I got the cinnamon one, I think they made the batch right after making the cherry. LOL! It kind of tastes like cherry to me. I'm hoping to try the Dixie Diner granola next, but not sure which flavor. I think you get less of that for more carbs, which kind of stinks -- 4 carbs per 1/3 cup.

Peanut butter has been my weakness lately, but I *think* that craving is gone finally. I hope so! I'm hoping to start losing again here pretty soon. I seem to go through spurts, but the PB has been my hold-up these past 3 weeks. Ugh. Good luck!

Hmmm I'll have to try that.  I like the Sensato hot cereal...I just hate having to order and paying shipping.  Wish stores would carry more low carb foods.  Thanks Rena.
Peace and blessings,

I agree Izzett. I have had a hard time trying to find stuff in the stores.

I was thinking about that...setting the goal lower just to have a little play room.  Thanks!

That's what I did before I even got started. I figured 150 was a decent weight for me, so I set it to 145. Being 7 pounds away doesn't make me flip out because I'm close enough not to worry anymore. Of course, I want to reach that goal, but I'm at a comfortable weight now.
