Ugh -- fried liver. My mom used to cook that, with onions. I can still smell it. It was awful.

Rena,
As a kid, my mom made liver & onions.   EEEWW.  And my dad would eat sardines all the time.

YUCK to both...and those anchovies too!  I can't eat anything that smells that bad  :o

I loves me some sardines... The problem I encounter is that I cant find the boneless ones and I refuse to debone these fishes...

Hi Rena! :)

Me too!... There are some smells that you'll never forget.

I do remember my mom cooking livers until they were as tough and dry as hockey pucks.
Maybe that's why I don't like cow's liver to this day.

Strangely, I can eat chicken gizzards (kidneys) and chicken livers.
But the livers in spartan moderation... They have a VERY strong flavor. Too many and I think of cow's liver. :P

:o  :o  :o   BONES?   :o  :o  :oSeriously? You have to take out their little bones too? **thud** I don't think I could do that. I love fish, but am the type of person who separates every strand of it with my tongue before swallowing. I've always been scare of choking on a fish bone. This thread is getting seriously weird. We need a 'twitching' smiley like Tom Hanks. :D

Reminds me of a store Rick went into and he saw all these little chicken feet lined up in the meat counter. Common food among some, I'm sure. Please Umpa, don't tell me those are good too. I won't believe you. :P

And just for the record, I won't eat tripe, tongue, liver, or chicken feet no matter how few carbs they have. ACK!

Yum yum ...

You're right Rena... Things are getting a bit weird here! :D :D :D

As a kid, I can remember going to Chinatown in downtown LA and seeing chicken feet hanging in storefronts.

I also remember one of my mom's friends (a nice Mexican-American lady) who lived across our street.
She would sometimes bring over a pot of menudo (tripe soup).
The liquid and veggies in it were fine... But the tripe itself was a bit too much for me! :P

Rena,
I think we were separated at birth!  I won't touch the stuff either!  Even if I was on Fear Factor!
