My secret
« on: July 15, 2011, 01:22:54 PM »
Well Doug, I found this book called "Fat to Skinny" and I actually committed myself after some struggle of actually committing and BOOM,
I started losing.

Well, I wanted to wait to reach my goal, but I am going to share since you are all part of my family...

I have tried many many things to lose weight.. starvation, liquid diets, pills, hcg but my most drastic action was...

stomach stapling 10 yrs ago and as you can see...IT DOESNT WORK!!!!!   Only eating low carb has helped me...

That is something I dont really share because its like a true humiliating failure  in addition to horrible effects that I went through.. Though you lose some, it doesnt teach you how to eat right and ultimately the stomach will stretch again to lead to....FATNESS because you never learned to eat right... Obviously, I have had my fallen moments, but the huge difference is that I have a conscious about it now and I never did before... The numbers speak for themselves.. I have to also give credit to my endocrinologist because he helped me with the meds and also supported the low carb eating method.

So I bow down and thank you and Umpa for your love, dedication and just genuine care for all of us...oh yeah, and for not being a BSer..  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Hello Alex!

Your experience is nothing to be ashamed of.
Most of us have gone to many drastic means to lose our weight, only to experience failed efforts.

But these "failures" were not our failures... They were the failure to recognize the cause of FAT... SUGAR!!!
At the time we did these things, we did not know any better. We were just hoping that we'd come across the answer to our weight problems.

But now that we know how we get FAT and how to lose it, we have a new lease on life.
FTS provides that lease!

I thank God that you did not suffer serious complications from that surgery. And thank you so much for sharing.
I hope that your testimony about FTS and stomach stapling will help save someone else's life.

Tony

I agree with Tony ,I would say the only thing that held me back from something so drastic was the money ,insurance would not cover it . I am so happy that we have all found FTS.

Alex I am so glad you shared this!  Please don't be ashamed.  We are all family here, and I think when we open up about our lives, it brings us all closer.  Seriously....I bet most all of us have at least considered drastic measures to try and change our lives prior to finding FTS.   A couple years ago, my MOTHER IN LAW came to me confidentially and offered to pay for me to have gastric bypass!  Wow...talk about making you feel crappy.   :-[   She meant well, and I know that she loves me.  I am so glad now that I didn't do it.   Now that I have found FTS and learned how to lose....I have been thinking....(dangerous I know! ;D)   but if she could afford to do THAT, maybe I'll ask her to use that money to pay for cosmetic surgery to remove my droopy skin when I finish losing all this weight!  LOL   Either way, I am happy!  Also, I hear that it's nothing a good pair of tight jeans can't fix.   ;)   Oh and by the way, Alex....we love you!!!!!

Thanks Tony and yes Alex dont be ashamed alot of people that have lost alot of weight and dont tell people that is how they did it . My aunt had it about 10 years ago she has now gained all of it back .
The surgery doesnt fix the brain . You pretty much have to eat like FTS after you have the surgery anyway .

Oh and Jan I heard that droppy skin surgery is very painful and dangerous it will not be nothing a good ole pair of SPANKS  cant take care of . Nobody can lose over 100 pounds and not have some skin hanging around . I guess we can feel them up with a lot of muscle . LOL like that would ever happen , I think I will just buy me some spanks

 Love ya Alex

Alex - Bravo to you!!!  Although, as the others said, your story is nothing to be ashamed of.  I understand though, I can tell you I know how many diets I tried, I went through anorexia, I went through bulimia.  But ultimately, we have found something that works - and we are strong and determined!  You ROCK!!!

Since we're being honest! LoL...When I was in high school I was 125, got married and had kids, and basicly gave up. I figured what did it matter anymore? After haveing kids, there was no way I was ever going to see 125 again! Until!! Doug and Umpa showed us the way to eat healthy! I just can't see how we all ate like that! Now, when I bag peoples groceries, I just cringe!
And also, just to let y'all know...I went to the eye dr. today, (is why I hate going!)I had this when we lived in Fl. but the symptoms went away & I didn't think anything else of it! Till I could tell my eyesight was getting worse. Soooo...The dr. told me I had what's called a sudo-tumor. It's not a real one, but the brain thinks it is, because there is a mass in the back of my neck causeing blockage of spinal fluid going up and down and the blockage stops @ my neck causing pressure from my neck to my eyes. The dr. said if I don't take care of this, I could be legaly blind!! So, yeah, I think I'll take care of it! (dr. said also, could very well be causeing the vertigo symptoms!)

That's the key right there -- feeling in control. I'm so glad you've found something that works for you, Alex. I honestly think a lot of 'diets' will work for people. It's sticking with them and learning how to change eating habits that is the hard part. Keep up the great work and you'll be at your goal before no time!

I think all of us who have lived much of our lives overweight develop issues, secrets, private feelings of failure and hopelessness. The really sad part about it as Tony pointed out is it truly isn't our fault. It's the fault of how we were taught. The only direct blame I levy is on our Surgeon Generals because they lead the way for American Health.....after all it's their job to do so. >:( >:( >:( >:(

With that said, personal responsibility kicks in when we finally learn the truth. This is the time to be responsible for our own health decisions both psychological and physical and the responsibility to share what we know with others who are still struggling under the veil of Bull@#$t being taught as truth.

You're their Alex, you have finally found...through your own persistence, the truth about human weight gain and loss. From today forward I want you to change your feelings of humiliation from a failed stomach stapling attempt to feelings of ANGER towards the butcher doctors who knew at the time of your operation that low carb eating would have dropped your weight naturally. YES they knew, you can bet your life on it!

Now channel that anger for the good of all by making your "secret" your own personal freak flag.  :o SCREAM to the world how you were hacked up for profit, >:( SCREAM to the world how the Gastric weight loss surgeons take advantage of the vulnerable for sail boat payments. >:( SCREAM to the world how easy it can be to lose weight eating FTS  ;D........ AND Be Proud of yourself Alex........all of us sure are  8)
