New to FTS
« on: August 19, 2011, 10:47:02 AM »
I started my FTS journey on August 9th.  I weighed in at 243.2 pounds, I was sure that all 3 of my cats had their paws on the scale, but unfortunately they didn't....DARN!

Now I have tried every diet under the sun, the last being the Atkins, which surprisingly did not work very well for me. Of course I didn't know about the hidden sugar in foods at that point. However, after a month I lost less that a pound. Very upsetting.

Since my initial weigh-in on the 9th, I haven't been near the scale.  I have written down every carb that has passed my lips since I started.  I wasn't going to get weighed again for at least a month, but have since decided that I had better change that in case I'm not doing as well as I should be, so I will get weighed again tomorrow morning, and post the results on the forum.  Hopefully I will see a loss, if not will be asking for advice, and have Dough take a look at my food journal.

Watch this space......

Ok guys.......I can't believe it......I have actually lost 4 lbs, not a big loss in the scheme of things, but what a motivator that is.

Now I really know I've come to the right place!!!!!! :)

Congrats on the 4 lb. renee! :) :) :) :) :)

Katary is right. This is a lifestyle.
If you ever go back to eating like you did before, your weight will come back (and likely more). Guaranteed!

weight loss is a process that happens over time.
So don't let how much you lose during a given period of time effect you.
The important thing is that you trend downward.
What you do today is what matters!

Thank you for all the good wishes!!!!!

You are most definitely right...this is a lifestyle change, and I am more than ready
for it.  Have cleaned out my cupboards, and have 2 large bags of groceries I am
giving away sitting on the back seat of my car!!!!

I have to say, I used to love cooking, but over the years not so much.  Now I feel
as though I want to cook again.  Although  living alone I'll have to see what
will be good as leftovers, mind you I don't want to eat the same thing every night for a week either. ;D

Hi renee! :)

When I was a lot younger, I used to love to cook but got away from it over time.
But when I discovered FTS and all the wonderful, quick, and easy low carb dishes, I've come to love it again! :)

On the weekends, make several dishes that can be split into two or three servings and freeze them.
If you make three dishes, you can alternate them thru the week.
The following weekend, change dishes.
Doing this will prevent "food boredom" AND buy you lots of free time during the week.
What you do today is what matters!
