Salads are soooo good now!

I love eating salad now and NOT feeling guilty about all the "bad" stuff on it! 

In the past my "diet" salad would consist of lettuce and fat free dressing :( Yuck!  I would make myself eat it just to fill my tummy up, so I wouldn't be starving.

Now I'm enjoying cheese, bacon, a little ham, eggs and full calorie tasty dressing! (When I was dieting I wouldn't of touched those things with a ten foot poll!)    I know it sounds silly to be excited over a salad....but they sooo good and I am losing weight.  Its a miracle!

Oh.....and has anyone else had to train themselves to like mayo and butter?  I have never eaten them because they are bad for you and make you fat.    Now i'm eating them and losing weight!  Miracle!

I'm with you! I love a good salad full of all the fun stuff. Have you tried the Waldens Farms dressings? OMG they are so good. I am currently hooked on their Sesame Ginger dressing that is so good you could drink it. LOL

It's almost like we are having a "chef" salad with all the fixins we can have.  More fixins than lettuce LOL  ;D
My problem is not liking mayo...I have always been a "miracle whip" fanatic.  Love butter LOL.  No problem there, but like you said FredFred dressings, butter and mayo were tabo on some "diets".  Foods taste soooo much better on FTS (yeah Doug and Umpa). 

Sherrie would love to try some of the Walden's Farms dressing, just found some yesterday at a Food Lion in a town about 30 minutes away.  What other flavs do you recommend?

AND the funny part about it all is that the carbs are in the veggies, that's why bunny rabbits get fat :)

I love them! I had been using the Bleu Cheese for the past year. At first it's a little different but you get used to it. But two weeks ago I found the Walden Farms Sesame Ginger dressing. OMG it is SO GOOD! It tastes like it should be illegal for us FTS'ers. I have also tried the Ranch but it was a little gross. I just checked out their website and they have a new flavor Chipotle Ranch that I need to try. I just love that the dressings are no carb, no sugar, no calories. It's amazing they can do that!

Hi Fred! :)

The versatility of salads is one of the coolest parts of the FTS lifestyle.
You can do so doggone much with them and still be FTS friendly!

During the Summer heat, we've been eating salads most days.
One of our favorites is adding cooked shrimp (like left over scampi) with shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, slivered almonds, and a little original Hidden Valley Ranch dressing... YUMMY!!! ;D ;D ;D
What you do today is what matters!

Mmmmmm.  Thanks for the link.  I see they have several.  Of course, local stores only carry 1-2 flavors.  :-\  Anyway will watch for them or order off net.  Right now my fav is Ken's Creamy Caeser for 1 g for 2 Tbl.  This is one I couldn't have on weight watchers LOL; or even as much.  Loving FTS.  Thanks again Sherrie!  :D

I love cobb salads! Keeps me full all day!I make flavored butters for cooking also.The last one I made was a lavender butter ;)

I feel I am learning so much to help me from your all's posts!
I plan to make us taco salad tonight. I 'm just going to take salad, add lean cooked taco hamburger ( I found a low carb taco spice packet at store Saturday) and sour cream and cheese, but of course no taco chips.

You can make chips with Josephs pita bread or lavish bread you can find both at walmart by the bread or by the deli . We like them better then regular chips . Taco salad is great we but lettuce cheese meat sour cream & taco sauce .

Oh and I also put this in my meat instead of buying the package taco seasoning that has  more carbs after I cook & drain the meat I put 1/4-1/2 cup water and
1T chili powder
1tsp Paprika
1tsp cumin
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2tsp garlic salt
& dash of cayne pepper

I like to use a  romaine leaf for tacos because they are crunchy! ;)

Love your taco seasoning recipe Jo.... I like to make a lot of that and keep it in a spice container....Hubs is from Texas and loves anything with those spices...LOL  ;D
