(You know how you get bored with the same ole same ole?)Well, I tried gigi bread crumbled up, like Doug used pork rindes for? and used it as a coating for sliced tomatoes! and put it in the fryin pan! It's wonderful!! and also, Doug about the dr. not signing the papers for my 15yr. old? It's amazing what they'll sign when you threaten to walk!

Hi snobles! :)

Fried tomatoes are yummy as long as you watch the portions... They do have carbs.

If it takes a threat to convince your doc to sign a legitimate statement, you really should find another doctor!
You (and your family) deserve much better than that!

@Mouseissue, I totally agree! It seems the school is all for the diabeties thing. The school nurse even knew what carbs were. The dr.'s are the ones who are failing miserably!! and the sad thing is, they went years of college for this stuff, and know nothing!

Hi snobles! :)

All medical doctors are taught how to patch us up.
It's only those that go the extra mile and learn how to keep us well, understand FTS.

Get your family a better doctor!!!

Doctors are  only as good as they study. They have to be open to learning new things and other theories and not get caught up in ego and I know everything ;) Your son is gonna do fine ,he has you! :)

@Mouseisse, yes sir  ;D @ Umpa, yeah, we finally got things worked out with the school. I had to call the school, because they were STILL giving him a slice of pizza and fruit cups!! Loaded with sugars!!! I swear, the general public, and carbs, sugars, and sugar alchols, well, just sucks! But, we got the school on track at least  ;D

Steph,
I don't know if you are going to follow through on looking for a new doc.  But if you do decide to, you might look into finding a D.O. instead of an M.D.  Doctor of Osteopathy degree is different in that they tend to focus on the "whole" person instead of just the disease or illness that brings you in that day.  I've always gone to M.D.s because I had thought the D.O. degree was kind of a half-assed degree for people who wouldn't make it as M.D.  I was wrong!!   :o
I've had a bad knee for a long time; one time I went into the doc because of it and straight up asked him if my weight was a factor with it.  He hmm hawed and sayed welll, possibly and then moved right on!  When I switched to a new doc (who is a D.O.) in March, first thing he did was hand me FTS and tell me that I need to lose weight and this is the way to do it!  That was before he even got my blood tests back!
Anyways as I go on and on  ::)  just saying it might be something for you and your family to look into!

Jen

His name is Michael Yudez, he is with the East/West Health Center here in Denver.  The office as a whole is pretty amazing; very focused on whole person health.  Besides the docs and PAs they also have massage, chiropractor and accupuncture services.  I am very happy there and so glad a good friend referred me to them.
