« on: September 19, 2011, 12:58:54 PM »
I found the Walden brand carb free peanut butter today.  Anyone tried this brand?  If so, how does it compare to the other carb free peanut butter????  Help is always appreciated  ;D

Hi there Binkyo4
In my opinion the Dixie Carb Counters Carb Not Beanit Butter is the best for 0 carb peanut butter.  I bought the Walden farms a while back (when I first started)  and couldn't get past the texture or something.  I'm not one to waist food but I have to admit that it went in the trash  :'(  You might feel differently about it though.  Also I didn't give it a chance with using it in anything (like the shakes)  Maybe I was a bit hasty??...LOL

I dont know why or what happen but I dont like Beanit butter anymore .  If I had to have peanut butter I would have to just use carbs for the whipped peanut butter . I think it is like 4 carbs per 2 tablespoons .

I really tried to like the WF peanut spread, but couldn't ... it's just awful to me. I prefer Beanit Butter, but it's only available online. I'll buy IM Healthy 1-carb soynut butter in a pinch.

Beanit Butter is so much better when you mix it with some natural "real" peanut butter.
You know, the kind where the oil comes to the top after it sits for a while.
Natural PB is lower in carbs than "regular" PB like Jif.

I mix Beanit with Adam's Natural PB about 1 part Adams to 2 parts Beanit.
If I want a richer PB flavor, I'll go as far as 50-50 each.

I just noticed Walden Farms says "100% Guaranteed" on their products, so maybe if you don't like something, you can get your money back. I really wanted to like the peanut spread, but I just hated it. I wish Beanit Butter was sold in stores.

Yea... I guess I should have tried to get my money back before I chucked it into the trash.  I don't remember what I paid for it.... it was awful though  :P  LOL  More like peanut butter flavored pudding  :P :P   Which I don't suppose wouldn't be a bad thing if you were going for pudding.  I was looking for peanut butter........ It makes me leery to try other flavors so much so I have avoided some.  Suz had the marshmellow dip and it was wonderful  :o  You just never know...LOL

I love beanit butter! Doug mixes his 50-50 with smuckers all natural with the oil on top.Me I take it straight. There are soy peanut butters sold in grocery stores that are perfectly acceptable at 1 carb per serving. They are with the peanut butters or in the health  food/organic section :)

All great alternatives, Phil.

But as in all things, moderation is key.
If you don't overdo anything, you'll do just fine.

The definition of "overdo" here will vary a bit from one person to another.
Once you know your tolerances, you can go ahead and enjoy within limits.

Really? Besides the I.M.Healthy 1-carb Soynut Butter, what are some other 1-carb brands? Most I see are at least 5+.

I did NOT like the Walden Farms peanut spread either!  I actually tried to make the cookies out of it...epic failure.  ha ha   However, I do really like the Walden Farms caramel.  The shake recipe Rena made up using the caramel spread is AWESOME!  I also like it on the vanilla Carbsmart Ice cream with a few pecans sprinkles and Land of Lakes whip cream.   Oh my goodness.....
