How do I start again?
« on: September 28, 2011, 11:14:38 PM »
I am in a big RUT. I have been gorging myself. I can't seem to get satisfied. Granted I am eating all the junk foods. It is as if I am a drug addict! What do I do? I thought about taking a diet pill to help me with the vicious cravings?
Please help me get back on track.

Hi Adrhouston!  I am so sorry you are having a tough time :( but we are all here for YOU!!   I do know that the junk food is what causes the cravings.   Just get rid of all the bad stuff and start fresh on FTS today.  Once you get through detox again, those cravings should be gone.

I was at Starbucks with my husband the other day.  I usually just drink coffee, but I noticed "sugar free flavors" on their menu.  I ordered some latte thing, and it was GREAT.  However,  for the next several days, I was craving EVERYTHING I could my hands on.  Turns out, that "sugar free" doesn't always mean it's "carb free".  I saw first hand that carbs make you crave MORE carbs.  Won't do THAT again.  :-X

Hang in there!!!  You can do this.  ;D

Gosh how I remember those days that it's seems I had every pantry door and the refrigerator door open at the same time.  I still couldn't find something that satisfied me.  Start now.  Read those labels and get rid of those high carb foods.  If you don't have low carb stuff get out and go to the store.  Buy some zero carb meat, cheese, eggs and low carb veggies.  Prepare some meat and cheese wraps, boil some eggs and just DO IT.  Like Maddysmom said, you'll have to go thru detox again, but it will be worth it.  Remember, this is for YOU and no one else.  Good Luck.  Keep in touch, feel better soon.

Just by coming back on the forum and posting your note I would say you are ready to get started again!  Forget the diet pills, that is just a temporary fix.  You can do this!  Get you a bag of Sugar Free candy, some almonds, flavored water, or cheese and consider it junk food!   ;)

Hi adrhouston! :)

Your fellow FTS family members have offered you excellent advice... PLEASE follow it!
Also, read Doug's book again!
And if you haven't read it, then read it NOW!

Carbs cause our blood sugar levels to spike.
And when that spike falls, we "sugar crash" and get "hungry" again and get cravings.
And round and round the sugar wheel goes.

Each morning when we open our eyes, we're given another chance to get things right.
Today is your day! :) :) :) :)
What you do today is what matters!

adrhouston....I wonder how you are doing.  I hope you are not still prisoner to your carb and sugar addiction.
I started back last Monday and have lost 10 pounds so far.  Just one week and I can already see and feel a difference.   I feel like I have taken control of my life and health.  It was a smart decision.  I hope you can do the same.  Believe me, it can be done.
