Sherrie/Sheperd's pie
« on: October 03, 2011, 10:44:09 AM »
Hi Sherrie,

I have a family of 6

2 lbs of organic ground beef (you can use regular)
8 oz of frozen green beans
1 1/2 Tablespoon of sazon completa  (all in one Spanish seasoning)
cauliflower
1/2 cup of sour cream
butter
2 tablespoons of mayo
mozarella or cheddar cheese or both

I cook the green beans and ground beef together and season it with the sazon completa. I tend to put a little of hot water because it helps the frozen veggies cook better. Then I just make the mashed cauli and put it on top of the beef and green beans.. Put the cheese of your liking and bake...

It was really good...
Alex

Sounds really good, Alex! :) :) :) :)

I haven't seen that seasoning in any stores around here.

Looked briefly online and found this;
http://www.amazon.com/Badia-Complete-Seasoning-Sazon-Completa/dp/B001O4GMDU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317653377&sr=8-1
Problem is it's #1 ingredient is MSG (NOT a good thing for your health).

Here's another from McCormick;
http://www.amazon.com/McCormick-Complete-Seasoning-Cilantro-6-Ounce/dp/B000B6J4KU/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1317653377&sr=8-8
MSG is the #3 ingredient.

Guess I'll have to keep looking. :-\

BTW, you look GREAT in your new avatar! :) :) :)

Hi all.. That was taken this morning.. Its national customer service wk and our theme this yr is "Out of this world".. today was green/alien day...

I didnt think of the msg, I only looked for sugar.. Good thing that I only use it once in a while... I tend to use Adobo but ran out and used this instead..

He is the ingredients for the Adobo..
    1/4 cup sweet paprika
    3 tablespoons ground black pepper
    2 tablespoons onion powder
    2 tablespoons dried oregano (preferably Mexican)
    2 tablespoons ground cumin
    1 tablespoon chipotle chile powder
    1 tablespoon garlic powder

I can also tel you that their is a HUGE difference in regular meat vs organic.. wow a huge difference.  I have been buying (even though its more costly) organic meats.. Sugar is not the only bad thing out there...all those antibiotics and hormones are really bad...

Thanks for the compliments...
Alex

I totally agree Alex!  Organic is the way to go I buy as much organic produce and dairy for my family that I can.  Every little thing helps when it comes to our health.  You do look great. ;)

I always let my cauliflower cool completely .Run cold water over it if yo don't have time to wait. Then drain well. After that you can bake it in shepards pie or  just heat it up in the microwave. If I use it right after I cook it without doing this,it is watery like baby food,YuCK!
