Yesterday when very well and today is off to a great start. I am faced with an evening meal out (fundraiser for my daughter's school), but  I have reviewed the menu and believe I can make very healthy low carb choices.

I keep using the subject title as self encouragement...Tomorrow is a new day! A day in which I can be successful. A day in which I can begin again if need be; a day to get back on the right track.
Taking the time to be prepared has always been my challenge. I am a very busy working mom. I volunteer with many different groups. I often use the excuse of "I don't have the time" to explain why I couldn't be effective and successful. After a long hard self evaluation, I have come to realize that if I don't make the necessary changes now, I really won't have the time...I'll soon be dead!  and I do not want that! So I am making and taking the time to be in charge of my eating habits, thanks to the support of  this forum!

Hi Barbara! :)

Sounds like you need to find some time to stop and reexamine your priorities.

Like the lists I mentioned here earlier, list all the things you do (along with the time they require) in order of importance.
Then decide if you've over-committed yourself to too many things... If so, trim off from the bottom of the list.

But remember, you MUST reserve time for your physical, mental, and spiritual health as a TOP priority!!!
Because if you lose your health, you will be unable to do all those other things.
What you do today is what matters!

The sooner you take responsibility for what you put in your mouth....the closer you will get to having a healthy body that you can be proud of.  Try to find an article of clothing in a smaller size that you want to get into and use that to help reinforce your goal.  Is their a dress or a pair of jeans that you would like to get into?  Your efforts will pay off if you take the time to take care of yourself.

Once again, mouseissue and skychant , your words of  encouragement and wisdom, lift me !  ;D
I am happy to say that I have already reached a small goal, using the article of clothing as a reminder of why I am making the changes. In addition, I have received several compliments, so my change is noticeable to others. I sometimes get so overwhelmed with the large amount that I have to lose, that I fail to recognize the progress I am making. This week has been very good for me, even under times of stress.
Some of what has also helped is the joy that I experience when i receive the email notice that there is a reply to this thread! Seeing your responses keeps me in line and on track! Thank you Doug and Umpa for this forum and thank you to the posters that care and share!   ;D
