Christmas is hard!
« on: December 07, 2011, 11:58:37 AM »
I was at the store last night and every row is filled with yummy food. There was divinity, fudge, cookies, cakes...you name it. Sometimes it just bothers me that all these peeps are eating this stuff and I can't. Of course it always passes and I love what I eat and I don't want to fill sick. But let me tell you in my next life I am coming back as a person that hates sweets! Man, sometimes it would be nice to just be a natural skinny person that can't gain weight! One of those people who say "I have to eat and eat or I will just waste away!"

Okay, I'm done ranting...

It's important for us to remember that we have an insulin sensitivity problem.
This is why we got fat from sugar.

Many other people do not and can get away with eating all that stuff.
However, more and more folks are joining our ranks because of the amount sugar they eat and how often they eat it.

FTS offers us "alternatives" that don't aggravate our condition.
Thank God for FTS!!! :) :) :) :) :)

BTW, Marty... See's Candies has sugar free peanut brittle that's GOOD!
Here are the sugar free treats they offer:

Just don't over do it! ;)

Oh tell me about it Sherripie...I feel your pain. lol  My thing over the holidays is the rice crispy treats and peppermint bark.  Mom and I always made the treats when I was a kid.  I just look at it and think about how bad it's going to make me feel and remember I have treats to eat when I go home.  Or as one of the other members said...I eat mine before I go out and I'm not tempted. ;)

It's only a few more weeks of this treat fest at the stores. lol
Peace and blessings,

IzzeT

I'm glad to be in the same boat as you all. ;)  Sometimes it just seems so hard but then something happens that makes it a little easier. My Mom is a Swiss Colony shopper and sends stuff each year. I just got her Christmas shipment and she did it FTS style. She sent me the MOST AMAZING SF Chocolate Truffles. They are so good and only 2 carbs for three pieces. They taste just like real truffles! OMG I am in heaven!!

OMG - I don't know why I didn't think to post this sooner!  There is a company online - www.amberlynchocolates.com.  They do sugar free chocolate bars, truffles, caramels, chocolate covered almonds!  And they do it really really well!!  It's Belgian chocolate; they have them in dark, milk and some white.  Obviously the milk chocolate is a little higher carb, but I'm a dark chocolate FIEND and their's is so amazingly good!  The mint dark chocolate truffles are the BOMB!!   ;D ;D  And the dark chocolate almonds!  They use maltitol as a sweetener just FYI.
Hope this helps y'all with your Christmas frowns!  They've been having some good sales and stuff too.

I totally agree with everyone.  It's bad enough to have to shop around all those "fat pills" but to have people shove something in your face is just as bad.  I was out with a friend (starting to wonder  ???) the other evening, she knows I have been eating no sugar and FTS since July.  She had bought a tin of sugar cookies and kept opening it up and eating one, which really didn't bother me.  What bothered me was her sticking one in my face and saying "smell, you'll eat one, aren't you EVER going to eat sweets for the holidays?"  I needed a ball bat I wanted to smack her but my reply was direct and to the point.  I told her that I can eat sweets every day if I want to, just those made without sugar, and no thank you to your fat pills.

Your mom is super cool sherripie. ;) Have you all ever wondered why the holidays are about food instead of giving thanks, sharing, and celebrating the holidays for what they are meant to be?? ???

Excellent response, Suz! :)
Hopefully, your "friend" got the message.
