It's the numbers that are wicked. They just won't cooperate! I got the Taylor scales Tony recommended and have been watching my weight bounce around daily. When I step on the platform, it's like pulling the handle on a slot machine - the numbers go up and down and up and dow and finally settle - did I win today? Or is it like the 8-ball says "try again later"? ...
Hi Marty!
I forgot to mention in my last post that your scale number (going up and down) is doing what it's supposed to.
The numbers move up and down for a short time and then settle on your weight.
You'll know it's found your weight when the number flashes twice.
The reason this happens is the computer in it "senses" your movement on the scale.
It will take a number of readings and figure out what your weight should be while standing perfectly still.
Mine is accurate to within 0.2 pounds of the digital scale at my doc's office.
If it starts acting weird, a low battery would be the first thing to suspect.
That's assuming no one has dropped it or dropped a heavy object on it.
One last thing... Always weigh on a solid flat surface like linoleum.
Since the area I have mine is carpeted, I put a piece of 3/4" plywood under it.
Happy Weigh-Ins!
Tony
