Hi all...
I've been lurking this past week and am listening to Doug's audio book for the second time. As I was driving home from a big food day this evening, I heard the subheading of "slaying the sugar dragon" on the audio book and know that's what I'm ready to do. I've done what seems like every diet out there, including the extreme forms (raw, vegan) and I gained weight! I've been sugar/flour free in the past and feel my best eliminating sugar. From past experience, I need to make the change when I don't have big temptations in my face, so I decided to wait until the end of today's meal to make the commitment.
I'm excited to be doing this for myself. I'll be 43 in a week and beginning a new career upon graduation in May. What a great day to begin! For so many years I've abused this body I've been blessed with, with the junk I've been putting into it. Today I commit to begin treating this body as the temple that God created it to be. I know from past experience that the first few days to a week can be rough, with the detox, so I'm sure I'll be checking in as often as I'm able.
For accountability, I'm 5'7 and probably close to 180 at this point. I'll step on the scale in the morning to know for sure.
Thanks so much for being here and Merry CHRISTmas, everyone!
