miss meringue??
« on: January 22, 2012, 01:29:28 PM »
I thought I read that Miss Meringue was a good snack? I ordered them from my grocery store and read the label and it is fat free but has 27g of carbs. What am I missing or did I just read wrong?

Are you talking about the mini-meringue cookies that come in vanilla and chocolate? If so, you subtract the sugar alcohols. Last time I checked, it was in the negative as far as carbs.

I do know some make their own here, but I haven't tried that yet.

They are not mini but the label says 27 carbs 0 dietary fiber sugars 27g no sugar alchol listed, so the sugar is in the carb count so it stays at 27g right? confused again,. Please let me know I am staring at them. thanks jo

sweeties they make fat free & sugar free . Those you have are full of sugar and no fat . I bought the sugar free and threw them in the garbage we did not like them at all . They tasted like what you would think a foam cooler would taste like with a little sweetner on them .IMO  ;)

LOL @ the foam cooler, Jo! I loved those little suckers. The chocolate ones taste like cake batter to me. I could eat the whole tub. And then moan and grown of stomach cramps all night long!  :D

Thanks for the info. I sent them home with my grandchildren. I knew they tasted to sweet to believe.

Sweeties I think everyone would agree that most of the sweet stuff that you buy is not as good as the stuff we can make from the dessert recipes .
Once you start eating real food for awhile you can really tell all the processed junk in low carb foods . I have just tried the EASY stuff and everything has been delish .
The only processed foods we buy is the Russell strovers candy ,but just every once in awhile because they do raise BS well ours anyway .

The trick to the sugar free meringue cookies staying crunchy is to leave them in the fridge. Once opened they will become soft, stick em in the fridge and within an hour or two they get crunchy again  ;)
