baking supplies

Umpa
What brand of almond, flaxseed and soy flour do you typically use and appoximatley how much does it cost/what size of bag. I'm doing some shopping around online but I have no baseline to compare it too.

Ok this might be a stupid question but can you puree whole almonds or flax seeds into flour and make your own? If so is this more cost effective?

I like NOW unblanched  almond flour because it is only 4 carbs a cup. I buy Bobs red mill Flax(0carb) and goldenflax (0carb)from amazon because I get a multi bag discount.I also have prime shipping from amazon.I use soy flour rarely because it is 16 carbs a cup and sometimes its bitter. But for some recipes like the scones you have to have it.I think Tony makes his own almond flour he has a cosco where he can get them cheap.I don't know if you have cosco or sams club in canada.Check out amazon. There are baking companies out there too that sell flours in bulk. When it comes to low carb flours do not pack them in the measuring cup just pour.A 10 ounce bag of NOW almond flour is 2 cups. ;)

Our Costco hasn't had the 3-lb bags of golden flaxmeal in awhile. We asked and they said it's not discontinued, but they're waiting to get the best price for the next batch. ARGH!  >:( So, the customer has to buy elsewhere and pay more. ARGH!  >:( Hopefully, they'll get more soon and I can stop all my ARGHing.  :D

Yeah, Shawn -- I've had mine set like that a few times. I love it! have a sick interest in pirates. Thinking of making a story about Dilly relating to pirates.

Not sure how pirates relates to baking supplies, but I'm sure we could come up with something. :D

Did you know pirates bred rats on board to eat when food got low? Yum yum.
