Crystal Light Mixers
« on: January 31, 2012, 11:51:01 PM »
I've been mixing crystal light into my water... it says zero carbs and sugar but it's sweet. I'm having a hard time believing the label. Can I trust it?

Welcome to the FTS forum family caves!  You are right the crystal light is very sweet.  I enjoy using it all the time.   It helps make it easier to take in more water.  They use a artificial sweetener to sweeten them... I believe aspartame if I'm not misstaken, so it is ok to use.  Be careful though, not all of the flavors are listed as 0 carbs  ;)

Welcome to the family caves, please review the section in the book which discusses artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols. Also on the home page of the forum scroll down to the Sugar Alcohol board.  ;)

Welcome to the family, Caves!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Crystal Light is a nice OCCASIONAL beverage and will help keep you hydrated.
But it does not replace plain water.

Plain water works best at flushing toxins and burnt FAT from our systems.
It also help keep the skin more supple. This reduces "loose skin" and flab after significant weight loss.
Try to drink AT LEAST 64 ounces of water EVERY day for best results. More if exercising.

For some, it's hard to drink that much water.
It was for me too. But I found that drinking plenty of it becomes a no-brainer habit after a while.
In fact, I miss it if I don't get enough.

Welcome, I am new too, been on FTS for 6 days, going to weigh in tomorrow, don't know what the scale says, but I say I feel better.  Not bloated and that is a good feeling.

Welcome, Caves!

I like Crystal Light too, but only drink maybe one a day, if that. Those little individual packets are labeled for 2 servings. Seriously, who uses half a packet? I've just started drinking the CL Energy ones while I'm exercising. I exercise a lot, and these have caffeine and extra vitamins added to them. Even so, one tiny packet is still super sweet in a regular water bottle, so I usually add more water after I've taken some sips. It helps to make it less sweet. Or, you could try doing half the packet, but that's a little hard to pour out.

Good luck with FTS!
