Maybe I missed it, but how many carbs should be counted for the OMM?  I cannot wait to make these.  Trying soooooo hard to do this correctly.

Hi NSands -- It depends on what you make it with. An egg is generally 1 carb. Almond flour can be anywhere from 1-4 carbs. Flaxmeal is 0, which is what I use. Then if you use any sweetener (like Splenda), you'd count that in as well. Generally, mine come in at less than 1 carb, which is mostly just the egg. So, it really varies on how you make yours. :)

I think I've had an OMM everyday since I got the recipies!! I made mine with vanilla and cinnamon and eat it with a little bit of s/f syrup. YUM.  ;D

My almond flour has 3 net carbs/ 1/4 cup. Is this the average. I saw Rena you wrote it ranged from 1-4. I would love to find the kind that only has 1 or even 2net carbs. I prefer almond flour over the flax (taste like cake to me) but I can be very cheap with wasting my carbs!

My flax seed flour just says whole flax, I'm assuming thats not the golden stuff?? Maybe thats the problem!

ES15 you have to get the Now almond flour it is 1 carb for 1/4 cup . I also like the almond flour better then the flax ;D
Oh and the flax would say golden flax it does taste better then the brown that is for sure but still not better then the almond flour ,that is my opinion  ;D And you know what they say about those  :D :D

Okay, finally tried the OMM. I used almond flour and added a bit of xylitol, shredded unsweetened coconut and cinnamon. Totally rocked my world. It's magical.

Has anyone tried this using egg whites from the carton?

Hi ES15 The package will say if it is golden flax or not.  I like to buy this brand from Walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Wild-Roots-Milled-Golden-Flaxseed-16-oz/15716910.

I can find my Now brand un-blanched almond meal at my local health food store, but they have been out for the past 3 weeks....grrrrr It is almost easier to just order it online... ;)

Hi Alicia....they are pretty good aren't they...LOL  I've used the liquid egg many times with no troubles.  I like that I can lower the cholesterol a bit when I use them.   ;)

I use egg whites all the time unless I'm trying to increase my fat intake.

I was buying egg whites from the carton to cut back on cholesterol, but now I buy the Kirkland Real Eggs from Costco. They're "yellow", but consist mostly of egg whites. Makes a better looking omelet than an albino omelet!  :D

Are they 1 carb Rena? The only appeal to me my egg white cartons had was that it was 0 carbs. I always hate that eggs have one carb, I feel so jipped :P But I do agree a real egg is better for omellettes or fried eggs!!
