No energy - what's up?
« on: February 07, 2012, 11:54:52 PM »
Hi

Energy is gone ?   >:( i really hope it's TOM.  I have been dragging myself most this week.  I want to nap again when I get home from work.  I have been stressed because of work (my program lost funding).  I make sure I am eating 20 carbs a day and  I am in ketosis. It such a big change from 4 days ago. I might be putting pressure on myself because in two weeks we are flying to Maui for a wedding and  I am already fretting about how big I feel I look.  This has to  TOM.

Faith,  the stress you mentioned from work and the added stress of travel and the wedding can be affecting you too.  Stress will do strange things to a person's physical well being..when I was always stressed it turned into depression, in turn I wanted to sleep more.  Hang in there, this will pass.  Good Luck.
Look out Hawaii, I'm on my way!!

Stress can make your body dump (or use up) vitamins - maybe an extra vitamin would help? Deep breathing. I know how you feel about the wedding. But, you aren't as big as you think. Self-image is deceiving. The more you focus on it the worse it looks.

I pray, dear Lord, that you'll help lift Faith's self-confidence, give her a safe and happy trip to Maui, increase her energy levels and help her shed her unwanted weight quickly.

Thank you all for all your kind words and prayer.  Your right  I am stressed so I worked out today and felt better( I love t-tapp) :). I also have some medical stuff I am dealing with and I am going for a third scope tomorrow.  I choked about two months and I always felt like I had something stuck in my throat but it turns out I have silent acid reflux and had some polyps removed from my throat.  So I know that it is combination of stuff.
After all said and done I am glad that I found this WOE.  I am grateful for this forum.

Umpa what is sam-e ?

Exercise really helps give me more energy. Sometimes I don't get to it until later in the evening, but I've found if I do it in the afternoon, I feel so much better later on. My appetite goes down, too, which is always a good thing.

I take Sam -E everyday. The cheapest place to get it is swansonvitamins.com and buy their swanson brand. Its a mood elevator. It helps keep you feeling good and kills depression and the blues.Works quickly.Start with 200 and work your way up to 400 per day.I started taking it for the depression that came with my menopause and will take it forever. :)

Rena - I am going to try excerise in the afternoon to avoid that afternoon slump.  I do my  excerise routine about 5:45 am but by Wednesday I am too tired to get up so I am going to switch so I get more thru the week.

Umpa, thanks I am going to try Sam-e.  I know  i am peri-menopause

Thanks for the great info :)

Why is SAM-e so expensive?

Ugh! I got some today, but even a small box of only 18 tablets cost a bundle.

Is it worth it?

Rena....much cheaper at Swanson....Umpa says to buy the Swanson brand....AND yes it's worth it, take it from a guy who lives with a woman who has gone through MP over the last 3 years and handled herself like a champ :)

Umpa always says "we are responsible for our own self control" SAM E will keep your mood leveled.  ;)

The price of gas and diesel is reflected in the cost of EVERYTHING we buy.
I hope these prices come back down to sane levels somewhere in the not-so-distant future.

Paying around $18-$19 to fill a 5 gallon gas can is obscene! >:(
What you do today is what matters!

Tell me about the diesel -- we have a van and it's a killer to have to fill up. Good thing we don't use it as much this time of year.

I did get some SAM-e and am giving it a try. I think the box I got had 18 tablets in it. Think that will be enough for me to see a difference?

Also, has anyone taken Bee Pollen? I don't mean the granules, which have carbs, but the capsules. Or do the capsules have carbs too? They don't list it on their bottles. The reason I ask is because everyone has been sick for the past 2 weeks. Two nights ago I had a terrible sore throat. I had some bee pollen capsules in my cupboard that I bought awhile back and I remembered hearing something about taking them at the first sign of a cold or flu. Well, I figured what the heck and took a few. When I woke up, the sore throat was gone and I haven't felt sick since.

Rena, I think I heard something about bee pollen a while back but never do think to buy or use.  Glad it helped.  My husband and I use Airborne a lot but after checking the label I found that it has 4 calories and 1 carb.  Luckily I don't take them that often.  Although, when you're not feeling well if it costs me a carb to feel better then so be it!   ;)

We have a diesel pickup that we pull our camper with.  It's scary to check out how much more it seems to cost to fill it up but hubs can go about 3 weeks without filling up.  Ironically we have a small economical Nissan Cube and I'm not sure we are saving all that much.  We had a Chevrolet 7 passenger van that we used for travel before the camper and we needed a bandaid everytime we filled it up OUCH.
