Chocolate for valentines day
« on: February 08, 2012, 02:22:48 PM »
I actually survived going in a chocolate shop and buying chocolate to make choc covered pretzels for my family (favorite) and did not even want any of the showcase chocolates. Stayed there 20 minutes chatting about my old chocolate store and still was not interested in eating any chocolates. Lost my craving for it. so yahoo  :D

Kudos Sweeties! ;D ;D ;D

Like drugs, carbs cause cravings for more carbs!
After you've detoxed from sugar, it's far easier to ignore them even when they're all around you.

You're well on your way to the new skinny you! ;)

Made all my valentine chocolates and did not even taste any. Did not want to. Yes it feels great. Now if I can stop craving crackers. I went everywhere and buy low carb crackers and then toss them to the buzzards. Anyone know of any that actually taste like crackers. I also bought adkins 3g carb bars. They taste to good to be true. Please tell me they are ok.

The prevailing wisdom is that Adkins bars are too good to be true.  Sorry.  They do taste good but will sabotage you.  Give them to the food bank.

Try Katary's crackers and (uh oh - can't remember who made the others) anyway, the others in this forum. They are SO EASY to make and absolutely DELICIOUS! I've dubbed Katary's crackers "Katary Krackers" and had to take a break from making them as I LOVE to EAT them! The recipes are under breads and crackers.

Sometimes, I get a craving for a cracker like Cheese-Its.

To satisfy that urge, I just take a baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
I'll put small piles (about 1 TBSP each) of grated cheddar cheese on it.
Place it under the broiler until the cheese melts into flat puddles and starts to brown.
Then, remove from the oven and allow to cool... They're a tasty, cheesy snack! ;D

BTW, not all ovens are the same.
So be careful not to put the cheese too close to the burners or.... :o :o :o
