The Potatoe ?
« on: May 26, 2010, 09:16:28 AM »
Someone recently showed me a book where the author recomends amng other things ( avoidiing processed carbs , sugar etc., she does allow complex carbs) having a potatoe with skin every evening. The author claims that this helps bring the tryptophan into the brain which increases serotonin from the days protein thus helping to reduce food cravings. Has anyone heard of this? Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mark

Jicama a mexican potato is what's except able on FTS. A regular potato is loaded with sugar.

Turkey will also produce tryptophan and release seratonin without blasting your system with sugar. ;)

Insulin spike with a potato is real bad and also has a lot of sugar that turns to fat. In my case.
