stevia powder to extract.
« on: February 26, 2012, 03:57:19 PM »
Hello everyone, my husband and I just came back from whole foods and I purchased the powder and liquid extract of stevia. what I'm wondering is conversion. I've looked on the websites and it tells me conversions with regular sugar. I am getting antsy so i figured i'd write. if a recipe calls for let's say 7 packets of stevia, how many teaspoons would that be? also how many drops or teaspoons of extract? would appreciate your help!
and thanks

The best way to do it is to taste.Xylitol I have conversions for ,stevia is a matter of taste. The liquid stevia is wicked sweet so a little goes along way.Did I answer your question?

Yes Thanks! I was baking all yesterday afternoon and tried and failed a lot of things. but that OK. my kids enjoyed helping me and they were reading Doug's book with me..so it made them aware of what can happen when there is to much sugar. They loved the little pics. Let's hope I can convert everyone! Also, Headache's is that normal? and I feel soooo tired. I'm thinking it was the carbs and extra sugar in  my coffee's that kept me going.
thanks!
Cyndi- ;D

Hi Cyn, headaches and fatigue are all part of sugar/carb withdrawal symptoms...hang in there, in a week-10 days they'll all be gone.

I'm surprised the Stevia product you bought didn't have the equivalency conversions on the package. I would contact the companies and ask them.   ;)

When you are done detoxing the sugar from your system your energy level will go through the roof until then you will have flu like symptoms.Headaches are normal.Watch your kids as they lessen their amount of sugar they take in all of a sudden they will be calmer ;)

I had headaches the first week also, not so much on the second week.  By the third week none at all.  I still find myself more "sleepy" than before, I think before the sugar/carbs were keeping me wired.  Hey Doug, will I ever be normal  :)  Only my 4th week, but I have the rest of my life to become "normal" ;D ;D ;D

Hi all, Well I'm proud to say that 4lbs are gone in just 4 days! I didn't want to weigh myself so quickly but I felt good! my headaches have almost disappeared and my pants feel a teeny bit looser.
thanks for all your support.
I get more encouragement here than i do from my own family!
