Dessert for the girls
« on: February 27, 2012, 10:40:34 PM »
Hi Umpa, can you tell me if this will work? I would like to make mini meringues to impress my sisters and get the last sister on board.
Using egg whites (2)beaten stiff then adding stevia powder,(4 T)  and drop of white vinegar Beat agin to stiffen up. Baking in the oven and when cooked and cooled, serve with FTS berries and whipped full cream. This is my normal pavlova recipe but just exchanging the sugar.
Thanks heaps,  PS Did you get the photos?

Hi again, Umpa can you tell what the total carb count is for this cracker recipe please.

Ground flax (linseed) 1x Cup   on pkt it says 4.8gm per 100gms also fibre is 31.4gm per 100gms
added tasty cheese grated 1/2 C  (had no Parmesan) says <1gm per 100gms
mixed together with water then baked.  If I'm correct in thinking then these are in negative carbs?
Would these then be the same or similar as your GG Crispbreads? Please help I'm confused.

Yes the meringues will work but make ahead of time.
The crackers are 0 carb therer is no such thing as negative carb.It just means they are less than one carb.Let us know if you get sista on board. You need to get them on the forum! :)

Hi Doug and Umpa, thanks heaps. Shane is my husband and his name comes up on the emails even though I write them. Will have a go at the meringues tonight. Glad you confirmed about the crackers. Still shouldn't eat the whole lot in one sitting. LOL  I'm going to take them to the night as well with a bit of cream cheese, some salmon and with chives sprinkled on top. I bet all you ladies would love to come to this evening. We have decided to have a swap night. I have cleaned out my wardrobe, my kitchenware cupboard's and even my bathroom cupboard. I have heaps to swap with my sisters. My sister Del might even have her sewing machine out so we can alter the clothes as we go. Even have a fashion show. I am really looking forward to it.

Well Done Sarah C. Keep it up.   Just a note the meringues turned out fantastic. Only added 3 Tbs of sugar and they seemed soft when they came out of the oven. But they crisped up beautifully in about 5Min's.

Hi Doug, It's ok, I replaced the sugar with stevia powder. Yes it was 3 Tablespoons. Makes for expensive meringues but oh my they were awesome. I had tried with less stevia but it needs the volume to make the outer shell go crisp but the inner stays chewy. Did that make your mouth water? It has made mine.

No, not yet. I just don't think she is ready in herself. Will give her my book and get myself the new one. She can read it in her own time. We had a lovely time together and she has noticed how good her sisters are looking.
