closing in on year one
« on: March 03, 2012, 01:08:22 PM »
Hi all!!

Within a few weeks of first year of Fat to Skinny lifestyle. Am down 62 lbs, 241 to 179,and feel very good, and thankful for discovering Doug's book. Annual physical and blood work in a month, and anxious to see what the numbers look like.

Weight has been more or less flatlined for about 6 weeks. Diet is the same as usual. Could probably lose another 5 lbs to be at ideal weight. Was wondering if the body reaches a point where it wants to be and holds that weight?? That's kind of what it feels like is going on.

Anyway,   best wishes to all. Stick with it and you'll have good success.

Hi Doug,

A year ago I picked 175 as my goal. The other thing that may be playing into the mix is as my weight has dropped I've had more energy and increased my exercise activity. So maybe I'm still losing fat, but building muscle, which is denser/heavier. At any rate, I'm real happy and thankful to be where I am now.

Thank You!

Welcome, DiamondDaddy! Congratulations on the weight. We just love success stories! I read your post about the cookbook - I love reading cookbooks and changing up the recipes to FTS standards. There is a world of good food waiting for us to try! I agree with TooSweet - check the carb counts yourself. Look at your labels. I've marked up some of my recipe books with the low-carb exchanges and counts. Saves having to do it every time.

Hi diamonddaddy! :)

It's very normal for the first pounds being the easiest and the last pounds being the most stubborn.
If you want to speed it up, try avoiding sugar alcohols, eating fewer carbs and/or eating a bit less.

Congrats on a successful journey!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
What you do today is what matters!
