It doesn't have to be connected to the forum software. I'd just love to be able to chat live with all the cool people in the Fat to Skinny forum, and others that love this lifestyle. Sorry to be a pain, but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask. Thanks Doug and Umpa for all you do.

This forum takes up a good chunk of my spare time now... Which is my pleasure!

But if we went "Live", I'd never get any work done around here.

HiYa Tim nice to see you again My issue with live chat is we have alot of kids on the forum.There is no way to censor live chat.There are too many crazys on the internet so I don't want to open that door.With all our global moderators we have been successful keeping the crazy people away and banned.

Howdy Y'all and good morning,

     I studied on this reply overnite so bear with me till the end.

     Freedom of speech is one of the cornerstones of this nation
and is prized as one of the greatest of our freedoms.

     However, it has limits. You can not yell "FIRE" in a theater
nor can you abuse my ears on or inside my property,I can demand
you leave and I have the right to do so.

     Doug and UMPA have decided with good cause to not open up
there forum (They own it) to personal chatting (IM=instant messaging)

     For 30 years I have been a SUPER GEEK (and a poor fisherman). So I decided to set up a chatroom for FTS friends and I did, then within
five minutes I took it down.  Why you may ask, well IMHO it would
take away the closeness of this forum and if you really think IM is
your thing get a Twitter account and have at it or setup your own
private chatroom there a many free ones out their.

    If Doug and UMPA decide later to add "CHAT" so be it, I hope they
do not. "If it ain't broke don't fix it" these are my opinions, I do welcome

I see the biggest downfall to chat rooms as the loss of helpful information that can and will help others in the future if the content is in "print" As we name topics and write about them the content is on record, searchable and much of it gets "indexed" on the search engines. On the other hand Chat simply vanishes never to be seen again.

Excellent and right on point. Thank you for
expanding the reasons a "ChatRoom" is not
necessary nor productive to this forum.

I know I can review things that are months old
if I want, that is worth a lot to me, heck Don,I could
have a "Senior Moment" and forget you and Yuma
names for weeks. 

I mean being a member of the "Fat and Easy"
forum gives me a lot of pleasure during the day.
