Carb cycling

Watching a show about high carb and low carb days--every other day cycles.  On the high carb days you are encouraged to eat non starchy carbs and lots of veggies and good fats.  What do you all think? ???

 Hi Beth......As a diabetic this kind of eating makes me feel sick all the time.  High blood sugar and then low.   :P :P  Also I'm thinking this will throw you in and out of sugar detox  :P :P :P  cravings cravings cravings.  And a bit confusing for your body......it will use energy you put in your mouth first before it searches for it in your fat that is stored..... I don't see how this is helpful  ???

     Ya done hit another one out'a park. If your body simply
used a 24 hour clock and burned all the carbs in a 24 hour period
up in 24 hours carb cycling it would just double the time necessary
to lose weight. That however does happen a high carb load
is going to throw you out of detox and then you have to recover
the next period of time you are carb restricted, as a diabetic
this is not a good plan IMHO.

You guys are so right!... Doing this would keep a person in a perpetual sugar detox!!! :P :P :P

I say no thank you to sugar detox!
Managing carb intake everyday is the way to go! ;D

The advice given is exact, this is a terrible way to treat your body. I'm asked all the time about "cheat" days. Cheat days will cheat you out of success  :o

I'm really glad to see Doug's opinion of "cheat" days.  I know a woman who "takes Saturday off" from her low carb eating and can't figure out why she isn't losing very much weight.  Perpetual sugar cravings can't be worth it.

Is the question of "cheat days" an indication that the person doesn't understand/fully embrace FTS?

Hi Andrea! :)

A "cheat day" is just an excuse to give in to cravings.
It makes the remaining 6 days a waste of time.

If you think about it, it's like high-speed yo-yo dieting.
The results wont be much better.

Having full time health requires full time effort.
Our bodies don't take days off. ;)
What you do today is what matters!
