Sadly there is a LOT of diabetes in NC.  I work for kidney doctors and see the results of what happens when it gets out of control.  I am thankful to God for what Fat TO SKINNY is doing to help people with this horrible disease.  As good as skinny is, getting the blood sugar under control is WAY better.

You are absolutely right!  I have hypoglycemia which is related to blood sugar levels.  I was heading towards Type 2 myself.  I am grateful for this healthy way of living and already feeling much better.  God bless them!  Also, I've tried over and over to loose weight with no success...I had no idea it was the sugar I was consuming and didn't make the connection because I have a physical job and that wasn't doing it either.  Opened my eyes for sure!

             I had hypoglycemia way before I got diabetes. I used to go down real bad. Now it's smooth sailing. I'm lucky I found Fat to Skinny. Izzet your right hypoglycemia is the first stage before diabetes. Diabetes is a nasty disease. It can be reversed though, I'm living proof.

Phil, thanks for your encouraging words.  I am not diabetic but have been living it with my husband since we've been together for the last 17 years.  He has had such a hard time with it.  His blood sugar was over 200 this morning before he ate breakfast and we have been sticking to the eating plan.  He did use a little insulin so hopefully will be better.  It just makes me feel so good to hear about people like you and gives me the will to keep going.

Also keep in mind Paula that ANY kind of infection will blow up his blood sugars. An infected cut an ear infection...anything. HAppened to me got an ear infection and my perfect blood sugars went haywire. To many sugar alcohols affect my sugars as well.

I also want to remind you to watch the portion sizes. High levels of protein can cause a rise in blood sugar. It will take 8 hours but if you over eat protein the night before you can end up with a rise in blood sugar the next morning.

wow! i totally felt my blood pressure rise certain days...i thought i was just stessin' but it makes sense now...i am blown away at all I am learning here with my new fam! love and blessings......

You all are awesome support!  I had no idea that eating too much protein would do that.  I keep it to a palm size of whatever meat or fish I'm eating so I haven't had that yet but good to keep in mind.  What a blessing to have such great people to confer with!

        Portion control has helped me a lot. I keep a digital food scale in my back pack take it everwhere. I measure all my food and eat about 4-5 times a day small amounts. I have to keep my carbs very low. Like Beebs said little things that don't raise others, raise mine. I cut my low carb tortills in half and don't eat them late in the day. My wife thinks I'm OCD but i'm not i'm not i'm not i'm not i'm not  ;D

Thanks Phil! I guess each individual really has to find out what works for them.  Doug and I were talking earlier today about how hard it will be for him to get used to smaller portions.  We are going to keep on and appreciate all the support!

I was having a hard time with smaller portions. Here's what I do, like you said Paula everyone is differant. I eat about every 2 1/2 - 3 hours smaller portions. 4-5 ounces on my proteins with large veggie portions. I usually add fats like olive oil, butter or avocados etc. low carb. I get so full I don't want to eat at all some times. My BG levels have come way down.
