snacks for a bus trip
« on: April 20, 2012, 01:19:30 PM »
Okay everyone-  I need you to help me come up with snacks I can take on a 9 hour bus trip with a bunch of snack eating Baptists.  Looking at our itinerary, you'd think all we are doing is EAT.  Any ideas!??

I recently took a road trip and had snack bags with 1/4 cup almonds in them (so you don't eat more than you intend), jerky, coconut cake cupcakes, string cheese, and hard boiled eggs (be sure to keep cool). Take small bites so the snacks last as long as possible. Savor each bite. Let us know how you did when you get back.

Great ideas, Sarah! :)

To those, add protein bars, pepperoni sticks, walnuts, and pecans.

Many FTS foods can be used as snacks.
It's simply a matter of dividing the prepared recipes into snack sizes ready for a quick snack or for the road. ;)
What you do today is what matters!

I always take a mini cooler with me in the car so I have something to eat . I like to take italian coldcuts ,fruit(berries)and cheese . I also throw some pita bread in there so if I want more than a snack I can have a sandwich.Berries are great for a sweet tooth.Nuts and boiled eggs are great too,but like Andrea said pre-measure or you will eat too much.Hard candies are also good. ;)

"snack eating baptists"......rofl

I agree though -- people love to eat, it's everywhere....and if we don't have our snacks to help us out.....well for me that is a recipe for disaster.   I love to keep celery around...I love the crunch

One of my favorite meals is chicken wings and celery with ranch dressing. ;)
