OK, so I have to share just one more....
I was at a professional meeting yesterday, and I noticed a very cute, perhaps size 6 or 4 woman. She was older than me but really wore clothes well and looked less than her age. She was wearing some very stylish, bejewelled jeans that highlight your booty and she wore them well. (the way I want to). Of course, they had carby junk to start the meeting. Since I notice that stuff all the time, I noticed she got some too. Here's what she had for breakfast: a donut twist (the kind where you twist doughy dough, deep fry it, and coat it in sugar), and some watermelon and pineapple.
So, high carb sugar coated and two pieces of high carb, sugar fruit! Not only would that have made my blood sugar tank an hour later, it would have stored fat like crazy, made me want "something sweet" later in the day, and made me feel like crap. <shakes head>
Part of me is still whining a little about how it's "SO UNFAIR"
that other people can eat what they want or just "stop eating so much" and
lose weight. GRRRRRRRR
I realize there are celebrities who can eat whatever they want. Courtney Thorne Smith talked about how frustrated she was until she went low carb. She said she was on the set of "Melrose Place" , just watching everything she ate, and still she had to see the very lean Heather Locklear snarf an iced donut and eat whatever she wanted from the food brought in. Of course, Courtney has been very lean for a long time, which is thanks to low carb.
Still, I have to remember Doug's "Special People" mantra. Furthermore, there's a reason why we're sitting on a obesity health crisis. There are millions of us who ARE special.
