 ;D ;D ;D I LOVE GRILLIN' ;D ;D ;D

my favorite is to have Grilled Steaks and Grilled Asparagus ;D YUM!!!

Lightly coat the asparagus spears with olive oil.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Grill over high heat for 5 to 7 minutes, or to desired tenderness.

I also do a foil packet with Squash and Zucchini :D I cut them into about 1/8th inch thick coins ;) with butter and salt and pepper

SOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOD ;D ;D

when I worked down by the Texas/Louisiana border a guy I worked with used to fix Cajun Grilled Okra
;D ;D ;D OMG ;D ;D ;D

    1 pound fresh okra
    1/4 cup melted butter
    1/4 cup Cajun seasoning

Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
Roll the okra in the melted butter and then in the cajun seasoning. Grill the okra until charred, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Also do Bacon Jalapeno Wraps ;D

6 fresh jalapeno peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
    12 slices bacon

Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.
Spread cream cheese to fill jalapeno halves. Wrap with bacon. Secure with a toothpick.
Place on the grill, and cook until bacon is crispy.

I was tellin  a friend about this and we were discussing what all we cook in the grill and he told me I was odd for cooking meatloaf on the grill and I should share it with ya'll here lol

am I the only one that does this???

Ingredients

    1 1/2 pounds ground beef
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 (4 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/3 cup crushed fried pork skins
    2 eggs
    2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
    1 tablespoon garlic salt
    1 tablespoon garlic pepper seasoning

    Preheat grill for medium heat..
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce. tomato sauce, crushed pork skins, and eggs. Season with chili powder, garlic salt, and garlic pepper. Mix until well blended. Pat evenly into a 9 inch pie plate.
Place the pie plate onto a cookie sheet, and place on the grill grate. Close the lid, and cook for 30 to 45 minutes, until no longer pink. The meat will cook faster on the grill than in the oven. Let stand for at least 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

I also added a topping during the last 5 minutes! The topping I added was: 1/3 cup reduced sugar ketchup, 1 TBLS Worchestershire Sauce, 2 tsp Splenda brown sugar. The family really enjoyed it too!

Sometimes add wood chips to my charcoal ;D gives a nice flavor

a side note I don't use a gas grill lol its "kingsford" charcoal ;D ;D

Memorial Day is a US national holiday to remember men and women who died in defense of our country.  Many people expand the meaning to everyone who has died.  My husband's family is from a rural area and they have a tradition of decorating the graves of their relatives with flowers and wreaths.

Memorial Day is celebrated on the last Monday of May.

Good question, Morgan.

Hi Tex! :)

Like bacon, everything goes better on the BBQ! ;D :) ;D
BTW, I'll often cook bacon on the barbie... YUM!

When the weather gets warm around here, you'll find me grillin' steaks, burgers, chicken, fish, veggies, etc..

I use a Weber Genesis gas grill.
I like the ability to control the temperature (up and down) as needed, when needed.

For the smoke, I'll usually strip some bark off a local alder tree, and put some in a chip box.
Alder trees are like weeds around here! :D

I also BBQ fish (like salmon or steelhead) on pre-soaked cedar planks.
Talk about a juicy, smokey, flavor... YUM!!!... I'm drooling just thinking about it! :D ;D :D
What you do today is what matters!

Thanks Andrea - we have Anzac Day which is the 25 April to honour our dead (and those still living) soldiers.  We have a public holiday and services around the nation.
