Using Protein Shakes
« on: June 03, 2010, 08:47:29 PM »
I've begun working out again...

And I want to make sure I get enough protein per day

And I use a Protein powder that has 31 grams of protein/8 grams of Carbs and no sugar...no fiber

I usually have 2 protein shakes (2 scoops of protein powder = above totals) a day with 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries

Since I am exercising 2 hours a day.

Is this doable under your program

I am curious about protein powders, too.  I am also using a whey protein powder to make sure I have enough energy as I get hypoglycemic at work and during/after a workout. I do 30 min of rebounding (trampoline with strength bands) a couple times a week.

I add 1 scoop to 8oz of Almond milk.

2g sugar (sucralose)
4g total carbs
.5 fiber
20g protein
Peace and blessings,

IzzeT

Beebs is correct.Buy sugarfree.I have a shake after i work out so I don't eat everything in the kitchen! I can have a shake with fruit. It fills me up then I can take a shower and I am not starving so I have time to make a healthy lunch. It is also wonderful for muscle recovery.I even use it in my baking to lighten my flours. This is a great product!IZZET, i also keep peanut butter around so if I hit a low it brings me back quick.(sometimes in the form of cookies :D)

Great information..I'll have to find a no carb brand.  I saw your recipe for pb cookies and want to try that to carry with me while I'm working...I'm a merchandiser wandering from store to store and get very hungry with all the physical work. lol
Peace and blessings,
