The companies have to self police, they have no motivation to. Reading labels isn't enough some times you have to read ingredient lists  ;) I was at amazon and  under low carb came up rice paper! I cracked up!
NO ANDREA!!! :D
Doug and I are both type A's.Makes for interesting conversations! You know all Chiefs and no indians can cause issues! :D

when reading the ingredient lists what should i be aware of ? are there certain things that should trigger my mind to say this is probably not "0" carbs.......... blah blah overwhelming..... hate that i have to be a perfectest, makes things so difficult. lol i just want to do everything the correct way .

Tony will probably jump in here, too, but you should also be looking at the list of ingredients.  If any of the first three are known high carb foods (wheat flour, for example) the carb counts are suspect.  Tony goes as far as not buying it.

I've also noticed labels with negative net carbs:  total carbs is less than fiber plus sugar alcohols.  That's not possible so it makes me question whether or not the manufacturer knows what they are doing.

Hi Stephanie! :)

Carb counts on nutrition labels can be confusing.
And Andrea's right... ALWAYS read the ingredients list to look for high carb content in the first 3 ingredients.
Among other things, rounding off fat gram content can cause negative net carb results.

The hidden carb counter has helped me a lot;

What you do today is what matters!

Hi Tony  ;D
Thank you so much. I am going to look at this and see if it can help me too....... the crazy type A in me is making me nuts along with knowing I know that certain things can not be 0 carbs.... I appreciate you chiming in, I was waiting for your response .  : 0 )
