End of 11th Week Weigh-In
« on: July 30, 2012, 08:47:12 AM »
2.4 pound weight gain this week.  Kept carb count low, but too many calories, sugar alcohol and I even had a couple stiff drinks.  I was eating atkins bars for breakfast and lunch all this week.  Not good for me.  Anyway, back to the basics re-reading the book.  Also going to start reporting weight loss through those tickers instead of weekly reports.  The program works better than anything I have ever been on, but you can't just count carbs...have to look at everything and how your own body reacts to things.

Sugar alcohols can really derail your efforts.

Hi Chris! :)

Knowledge is power!
And knowing what your body will do with what you eat, gives you a great advantage!

You are discovering first hand what the FTS lifestyle will do.
Besides losing weight, it reveals to you how your body responds to eating different things in different amounts.

Andrea is right about sugar alcohols... For many folks, they can really mess things up.
So now that you've learned that you're sensitive to them, be careful with them and you'll do fine.

Regarding "stiff drinks", they cause the liver to raise triglyceride levels in your blood.
Your body will burn those and blood glucose before it burns FAT.
The result, a slow down, stall out, or even weight gain depending upon what else you've eaten or drank.

So take these experiences and use them to your best advantage.
After all, experience IS the best teacher! ;)

Tony
What you do today is what matters!
