Carb counting?
« on: August 01, 2012, 12:10:15 PM »
I've finished reading the book, and I'm going to start Friday. I was wondering if I'm having 20 carbs a day how do I count the carbs in veggies and the fruits I'm aloud to have? Thanks

Welcome to the forum, Afrigreekgdds.

There's information on the carb counts on veggies and fruits in the book.

Here's a website that also has carb information.

Welcome to the FTS family, Afrigreekgdds!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

You can have whatever you like whenever you like as long as you don't exceed 20 net (digestible) carbs per day.

Digestible carbs = Total carbs - fiber - sugar alcohols.
But be careful with sugar alcohols!... They can mess up your progress.

One of the cool things about FTS is that you can individualize it to your particular needs & wants. 8)

That's easy, Only eat the veggies from the approved list in the book, the carb counts are next to the measured amounts. As far as fruits go stick to Strawberries Blackberries and Raspberries. Once again the measured amounts and carb counts are in the book.  ;)

Don't forget avocados my favorite! ...

Never forget them!... Avocados are a staple at this house.

In fact, I'll think I'll go make myself a BLT with some avocado in a low carb pita... YUM!!! ;D ;D ;D
