A few months back, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) suggested that every patient's BMI be recorded in their electronic medical records (kept in the federal gov'ts HSA patient database) as part of the health care law implementation.

You might wonder, why would they care about our BMIs?
Simple, it's something that could be used in making determinations regarding health insurance coverages and allowed treatments for people they correctly (or incorrectly) believe are obese.

This kind of thing can EASILY lead to fascism (an authoritarian form of government).
In 1930s Germany, one of the first things that Hitler did was provide gov't healthcare.
Considering the implications, that's scary indeed! :o

I have a "stocky" build:  short legs and a long torso.  Because of that, my BMI says I'm overweight in a size 8.  Obviously, I'm not a fan.
