End of 12 Week Weigh-In
« on: August 06, 2012, 11:10:25 AM »
I made some adjustments and am down 4.8 pounds this week for a total of 42 pounds in 12 weeks.  Thanks everyone for your support.  Oh, and now I guess I am no longer considered obese by BMI standards and just overweight for whatever that is worth.

I have one word to say Cathy Chris!... HOORAY!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

A big part of the FTS lifestyle is learning how our bodies respond to what (and how much) we eat.
By making adjustments, we often learn new things that help us along our way.

I must add that I am NOT a believer in the BMI metric.
It makes "one size fits all" assumptions about our body types, metabolisms, etc..
For example, many athletes competing in the Olympics in London would have high BMI numbers.

But nonetheless... It's wonderful that your getting closer to your ideal weight.
You'll know when you're there! :)

Doug,

I made 3 changes:  (1) I did the hunger test before eating just because it was breakfast time, etc. (2) I cut out certain sugar alcohols - I noticed my weight loss stalled when I bought these Atkins low carb bars - I was replacing quite a few meals with them, and (3) I cut out almost all alcohol.  I was adding back in some vodka diet tonic drinks and I noticed it slowed my weight down.

I will attempt to add these things back in slowly once I hit my goal, but in the meantime....

Great news, Chris.  You also passed the half-way point!

Those Atkins bars are tempting but not usually a good choice.

Congrats Chris. The changes you made will help everyone. I think you cut down net carbs by atleast 10 to 15 gms by these changes. Its sharing such experiences and experiments which helps everyone. And now only 2 to 3 months to go to an absolutely new you.
