My first day of 3-day test!
« on: August 13, 2012, 10:17:40 AM »
Good morning! I have two questions about breakfast that I ate this morning. I want to make sure if I am following through correctly.

I ate bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese and iced coffee.

2 bacon for 0 Carb
2 eggs for 0 Carb
Coffee mate - 2 Carb
Iced Coffee ?? How many Carb is that? 1 carb?

Total NET CARB is 2 Carb for breakfast.

Is it okay that I eat 2 bacon and 2 eggs?

At first, I ate bacon and scrambled eggs along with iced coffee.  I waited 15 minutes - still hungry so I ate cheese stick.

Looks good.

One suggestion is to switch to heavy whipping cream for your coffee.  If you need the sweetness, order some FTS Zero.  It is liquid sucralose, the sweetner in Splenda, but since it is liquid, there are no carbs.

This would save you the 2 carbs in the coffeemate.

As a general rule, we count eggs as .6 carbs.

You made good choices.  Over time, 2 eggs will be filling.

And make sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water.

Looks perfect to me! I would count the two eggs as one carb though. You could add a little more bacon too if that wasn't enough to fill you up.
(( I would say that though...because I think I am the resident bacon junkie!  ;D  ))

If you still feel like you aren't satisified...try drinking some water before your next meal!

You can do it! :)

Hi Andrea! Thanks for tip.  What is the name of brand of heavy whipping cream would you recommend?  I just bought Reddi wip whipped topping for strawberries.  Ok That's great that eggs is only .6 carb less than 1 carb.  So If I get 2 eggs that would be .12 carb?

Looks good.

I don't count straight coffee.

I buy heavy whipping cream at WalMart., the Great Value brand.

That is what I do as well Stephanie  :)  If it is plain coffee with nothing added I don't count it though like Andrea said

Hi Audra! :)

This looks like an excellent start.
It's good to be stingy with your daily 20 net gram carb allowance.

We dropped the CoffeeMate at my house long ago too.
I drink it black. My wife adds a little heavy cream and a couple drops of FTS Zero.

And, being cautious with your portion control along with watching carbs is the way to go. ;)
Just be sure to drink lots of plain water and get plenty of sleep.

You're going to do great! ;D

There must be two of us then suzanne - if I allowed it, I would eat bacon with every meal.  Yum
