Sugar free Jello
« on: September 04, 2012, 02:51:11 PM »
I've noticed a lot of recipes have sugar free jello in them I'm allergic to  the sugar that's in sugar free jello was wondering if you could suggest what and how I can convert or substitute something else in place of this?

Thanks in advance,

Elena :)

Hi Elana!... And welcome to the FTS family!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

I believe you're referring to the sweetener in SF Jello (i.e. aspartame).

If you like Jello and want to avoid aspartame, buy unsweetened Jello in the packages.
And make your own using FTS Zero sweetener... It's VERY easy to make! :)

One bottle FTS Zero is equal to 6 pounds of sugar (1 Drop = 1 TSP Sugar).
It's very good without a weird aftertaste and it won't cause problems like sweeteners with sugar alcohols do.

You can find Zero here.

I bought 2 bottles when Doug made it available.
I've been using my 1st bottle for a long time and still have a LOT left!

BTW, Doug won't have internet access until this weekend.
So if you order it before then, please be patient.

Tony,
Where do you find unsweetened Jello?  I don't remember ever seeing it.  Are you talking about gelatin like Knox powder?  I've never experimented with making it fruit flavored.

Any more detail?

I'm pretty sure that is what Tony is talking about Andrea .  You just sweeten it yourself and add any flavor you like  ;D

Just follow the directions on the box, only in place of the juice use flavored water sweetened to your taste.  I even like to use cyristal light or the mio's for flavor.  Works like a charm  ;)

Hi Andrea! :)

Like the sugar free and regular sugar versions, unsweetened Jello can be found in most grocery stores.
The box is about the same size and comes in multiple flavors.
Our local Kroger and Walmart stores carry it.

However, you can really go "fundamental" with this and buy Knox gelatin, add your own flavorings (from extracts or emulsions), and sweeten with Zero.
You could even add a little food coloring for "effect".
