Cholesterol is a really complicated issue, Millie.  There are so many things you can eat.  The first goal should be to take off extra pounds.  For most people, losing the excess weight leads to normal blood tests in a lot of categories, including cholesterol.

Take some time to browse through the recipes on this forum.  There is so much variety.  Of course, "The Book" also has lots of suggestions for adding variety to your menus.  It is an unfortunate fact that this needs to be a lifestyle.  We gained extra weight because we ate too many carbs.  If we start eating too many again, it is inevitable that we'll put those harmful pounds back on.  Variety will make FTS an  enjoyable lifeSTYLE, not a life SENTENCE.

(Wow, that lifestyle/life sentence thing just came out as I typed!  I like it!)

Hi Millie! :)

Elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels are a result of being overweight.

Andrea's right!... My blood tests became good after I lost some weight.
This has happened over and over again in our FTS family.

There are so many different things to eat, it's mind boggling.
Like Andrea suggested, just browse our recipe areas for ideas.
Doug's book has loads of quick snack ideas too.

Just stick to the FTS rules and your blood numbers will look good in no time! :)

Millie you need to re-read the book ;) You need fiber, protein ,fruits and veggies. You also need to lose weight and that will bring the cholesterol down. ;)
