Been low carb/sugar since April
« on: October 11, 2012, 12:36:31 PM »
I had Mr. Varrieur's book for about a year. Read it a few times.  Then I just decided to try it. Since April 2012, 12-15 pounds gone. No other changes in activity.  I really thought I'd miss tater tots, lots of pizza, high sugar sauces, rice ect. but I don't. There is so much I can eat that I love, chicken, meat, eggs, huge salads.  I could list many more.  Low carb/sugar began as an experiment out of curiosity it has now become a more a hobby. What sold me initially while reading the book is Doug's clear communication style.  Our history of sugar and wheat production is interesting too.  It's making sense how we got here. Since April I've seen how the low fat craze was a complete hoax.  Everything low fat has added sugar and/or high carbs.  I've really had fun learning how to replace high sugar/carb foods too.  Looking forward to hearing your discoveries and ideas.

Hi Jaybee and welcome to the forum!  I remember how excited I got when I found out about sugar free replacements....like cheesecake, pancakes, pumpkin pie.  The mashed cauliflower is a staple at my house too.  Just had some with dinner tonight.  After being on this program for a while, I think it's BETTER than mashed potatoes!   ;D

I'm with you on that Jaybee - Doug's simple writing style is what I found very intriguing.  The science behind this is actually very easy to understand when it's explained that way!  And it obviously works!  Look forward to seeing your results as you continue!

Welcome to the FTS family, jaybee!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

The problem with most weight loss plans is they tend to be complicated and involve deprivation.
To make matters worse, they are often based on weak (if any) science and are poorly explained.
It's no wonder failure rates with them are so high.

On the other hand, it's no wonder that FTS works so well!
The science behind it is rock solid!
Doug explains it in simple terms, and it's simple and fun to do!

Becoming healthier by the day with FTS is SO rewarding!!! ;D ;D ;D
I haven't felt this good for about 30 years!

I'm looking forward to hearing more about your FTS journey!

Tony

What you do today is what matters!
