Looking for a food processor

My ancient food processor is at death's door.  I know I will need to replace it sooner rather than later.  Does anyone have a food processor they absolutely love?  What should I be looking for?  Thanks.

It may not be a traditional food processor but I love my ninja.  It replaces my food processor and blender all at once

I like the Ninja too! Also have like a little food chopper that is about 2 cups in size that I use for mashed cauli ect. but I am usually only cooking for me versus a family like many others so it works for me

I have the ninja that has the three different sizes     It might be time to get me a new one soon...LOL  summer is around the corner and that thing gets a workout with FTS shakes

I have always been a kitchenaid girl but I bought a black and decker food processor from walmart for my camper and I LOVE IT!! Works just as great as my kitchenaide.It was $28  instead of $85 .

Thanks everybody.  Reading your replies brings up another question, not so much food related, but... I know the motor in the Ninja is like 1100 or 1200 watts.  Looking at the other food processors, their motors range from 350 to 600 watts.  Now, I don't want to drive the thing around the block, but I want something powerful enough to shred a block of hard cheese without stalling out.  I assume I should look at the 500 - 600 watt models.  Opinions?

Hi Mark!

Many of the more expensive models with the more powerful high wattage motors are faster at heavy shredding jobs.

My processor doesn't stall out shredding hard cheese if I don't force it.
Any processor will stall if too much is shoved in it too quickly.

So, if you don't mind being a bit more patient, it could save you $$$

Hi Everyone:
Has anyone had any experience with the "Nutribullet"? Its not a juicer but rather it grinds all the veggies down to a small particle size. It removes nothing so all the fiber is there but in a very fine size that is drinkable.
 
I just bought one after seeing the TV ad for it. I have never bought from a TV ad before but got this for about 80$ after a 20 off coupon from Bed Bath and Beyond.

Anyway, I've had it a few days and so far so good. It makes really good green smoothies. Add a few raw almonds, flax seed and it quickly made a pretty good drink.
It did a great job of grinding everything into a very smooth drinkable liquid.
Lets see how it goes but so far I like it.

Anyone else have one?

I can't say that I have tried that one but I do have the Ninja which I dearly love    I'm a gadget girl through and through Haha   I'll have to check that one out 

A word of caution though...be careful with drinking your carbs.  They can add up quickly in a smoothie.  Again welcome to the FTS family....I wish you great success in your journey.

Welcome to the forum, Steve.  I have an old-fashioned blender but I agree with Shawn about drinking your carbs.  Do it carefully.  Having the fiber left behind will help.
