Hi biglig welcome to the forum  :)

The sweet potato is a very starchy veg.   According to this listing http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/  they are about 23 net carbs per cup.  Unfortunately they don't fit into the FTS lifestyle unless you want to use your whole 20 net carbs all at one shot.

Here is where the subject of fries have come up before:  http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=3285.0 http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=4831.0  http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=3201.0  http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=3695.0  http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=3112.0  http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=212.0

We love our food around here  ;D ;D  Do some searching around I bet you can probably find some more posts that are relevant, but that should get you started.   ;)  We are glad you are here  :)

Welcome to the family Biglig. Replace your sweet potato fries with Jicama fries or turnip fries :)

Oven roasted turnips - chuck them up, toss with olive oil and seasoning - yummy!

Hi Mike! :)

Like Umpa, I agree that pumpkin is a good replacement for sweet potatoes.

If you're looking for a great replacement for french fries...
Fry sliced turnips, seasoned with Italian seasoning & Lowry's Seasoned Salt... YUMMY! ;D

how many net carbs in turnips.  Gosh, I used to think those were jam packed with sugar/carbs.  I am really happy to know that I can now use turnips as fries.  Thanks you all. ;D :o

Hi, Ellie! :)

A medium turnip has about 5.6 net carbs.

Here are three good places to look up carb counts;
